LESSON TWO: THE "DOTS" CONTINUED
This lesson will be much like lesson ONE, except that the notes will now be on the 6th
string, but still starting at the third fret (again at OUR first DOT).
The example is:
- 3rd fret = G
- 5th fret = A
- 7th fret = B
- 9th fret = C#
Notice that this exercise ALSO includes a SHARP at the fourth DOT. It will be easy to
recall where the SHARPS occur IF you commit this to memory....4th DOT = SHARPS. (Again, we
will only be interested in the use of the 5th and 6th strings for these PARTICULAR
exercises.)
Once you are able to name where all the "DOT" notes are on both strings, try
putting this and the previous LESSON together, starting with "C" . Work through
all 4 notes starting on the fifth string, (don't stop now) then continue through all 4
notes on the sixth.
- C-D-E-F# (5th string DOTS)
- G-A-B-C# (6th string DOTS)
As you can see, this shows "in order"
C D E F# - G A B C# ! This is a GOOD way to lock the INFO in your memory bank.
When you can do this accurately, move on to LESSON three.
